COVID-19 is accelerating the backlash in many countries against hyper-globalization in the face of rising inequality. But policy makers can use this as an opportunity to create a more inclusive model of economic globalization that can facilitate world trade and investment while still maintaining a more equitable social bargain. In this presentation Professor Rodrik will explore the reform of globalization and economic strategies for creating inclusive societies.

Dani Rodrik is an INET CGET commissioner, the President-Elect of the International Economic Association (IEA), and Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. His works include Economic Rules: The Rights and Wrongs of the Dismal Science and The Globalization Paradox: Democracy and the Future of the World Economy. He is also joint editor-in-chief of the academic journal Global Policy.
