The Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) is a global community of critical thinkers.
This two-day skills workshop / annual meeting of the Finance, Law, and Economics Working Group (FLE) aims to connect participants with politicians (MEP), lobbyists, NGOs, and practitioners working in fields related to law and finance. It will comprise workshops and visits with representatives, which will facilitate exchanges between academia and politics. Participants will gain fresh insights into the decision-making and lobbying processes in Brussels, allowing them to translate their ideas into actions and create a stronger social impact.
Funding: We aim to provide 20 selected participants - standing members of the Finance, Law, and Economics Working Group and those who would like to become active members of our working group in the near future - a partial travel grant, including two nights’ accommodation (28-30 May 2017), limited transportation costs, and a welcome dinner.
Selection: The selection will be based on the merits of the application. We especially encourage applications by advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs whose study and research interests are related to the fields of law and finance and who would like to become active members of our working group. Please be aware that you will have to cover any additional travel expenses yourself.
In the following two sections, you will be asked to provide your contact details and a short statement of motivation (not more than 250 words). We aim to respond with the outcome of your application within 5 working days of receipt.
* All the places have now been allocated.
