Measuring the Danger of Segregation

An 1869 study incorrectly stated that black Union soldiers had lower lung capacity than white soldiers. 150 years later, this same study is impacting the health and disability diagnosis of black patients. Structural segregation is still alive and well, and economists must do better to address it, says Ohio State economist Trevon Logan.
