Michalis Nikiforos is an Associate Professor of Political Economy at the Department of History, Economics and Society of the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and a Research Scholar at the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College in New York. He is also the co-editor of the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics.
His research interests include macroeconomic theory and policy, the relation between distribution of income and economic growth, political and economic fluctuations, as well as the political economy of the Eurozone. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles as well as policy reports on the US and the Eurozone economies.
Nikiforos holds a BA in economics and an M.Sc. in economic theory from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in economics from the New School for Social Research.
